The mousse itself was easy to apply - it's pretty moisturising (I find lotions/creams more moisturising though for frequent, ongoing use). It spreads easily, and blended relatively well onto my knees, elbows and ankles. Because I am normally fair skinned, a smooth and even application is important as any unevenness will be obvious. I can’t imagine you would get a good result without using a mitt.

The scent is light and not overly noticeable – the website promises no scent, but you do know you’re wearing it. As for its development, I wouldn’t suggest you do this during the day as you need to stay away from all water for at least four hours (this includes washing hands etc). White hands and tanned wrists are a dead giveaway! You can usually get away with the blotchy effect if you're using gradual tanners, but with such a strong colour disparity, you will need the pigment to stay on your hands for as long as possible. Ditto for giving deodorants a miss too.

I left this on for about 10~11 hours (why not?), and loved the colour when I woke up. It was an even, deep bronze that hadn’t streaked or grabbed anywhere. I knew the top layer was still the guide tint though, so into the shower I went. I know that the website promised no transfer, but with a white dress that evening I wasn’t going to take any chances!

It was lucky I did, as the water was quite orange for a bit while I washed off the tint in the shower. It’s a good idea to shave your legs etc the night before, so you don’t remove your fresh tan after it has developed.

I apply a light coat of moisturiser and my skin looks great. The final colour is a dark, but still natural looking tan that is even and my skin looks hydrated.

It’s a bit of a job to blend my face and makeup with the rest of my body, but a bit of bronzer does wonders to even everything out. Naturally darker people won’t struggle with this so much, obviously.
