When Dior says their new Forever Skin Glow Foundation is long-wearing for 24 hours, what’s a better way to test this claim than a big night out?
The final verdict is that I’m well impressed.
I arrived back home via the piggying back of my boyfriend and to no wild surprise, I slept with a full face of makeup on. I know. I’m disgusting. It was all for you guys though. Who else do you know that will sacrifice their own dignity and skin health to test the longevity of a foundation?
Anyway – enough judgement. I awoke in hungover daze to find the foundation stayed on so damn well that I could’ve easily recycled it. The boyf thought I woke up really early and slapped on a full face – that’s how well it stayed.
If you’re after something that will stay on a night out, or if you’re seeing a tinder date for a good time in which the commitment ends at your makeup, then Dior Forever Skin Glow 24h* wear Radiant Perfection Skin-caring Foundation is your plug.
I have always been a massive fan of Dior foundations but their newly updated Forever Skin Glow foundation is definitely on the top of my list and has been my favourite by far .
It offers a medium to full coverage and 2-3 pumps will give you that really lovely coverage that will target any discolouration, redness and imperfections.
Texture – it’s a liquid that’s super lightweight, easily blendable, and stays exceptionally hydrating and fresh on the skin. So that gets a big tick from me!
Application – I used a damp beauty blender and also my fingers to blend it right in. I just feel like the beauty blender gave it that really glowy doll-skin look, which I love.
Finish – it has a lovely satin / smooth finish. You can definitely leave it dewy by not adding any powder and use everything cream eg. cream contour, highlight. Or make it a touch matte by adding your choice of powder. This foundation definitely gives off that “lit from within” glow.
Wear time – it says 24 hours and I can assure you that they deliver on this promise.
I did use a primer under the Dior foundation – MAC Strobe Cream – which would’ve definitely helped it stay on. The foundation didn’t separate or move. Which is a big yes from me.

Following the 2nd birthday of Urbanaut Brewing Co., I also, was a disgusting lazy slob who went to bed without taking one’s face off. I’d like to say it was intentional for the sake of the 24 hour test but alas, I, like Fan_Rambles, unashamedly live by the code of tight-arsed pisswrecks, and so, imbibed the perfect amount of brews.
Now apparently I don’t sleep like sleeping beauty here above. I awoke to mascara smudged on my silk pillowcase and the rest on my under-eyes. My complexion makeup on the other hand, didn’t look too bad. Despite dealing with a breakout at that time, there was still coverage for my skin.
On a day to day basis, the Dior Forever Skin Glow 24h* wear Radiant Perfection Skin-caring Foundation is an amazing formula to pick up and test out. I have an oily t-zone and with this foundation, it needed a blot around 6-7 hours after application.
The texture is fluid, light-weight and it just melts into the skin. In terms of coverage, it’s mid-to-high but easy to build up – even if you layer it a couple of times, it doesn’t look cakey which is a huge positive factor. I use one to two pumps depending on the state of my skin on that day: one pump can lightly cover the whole face if you just want something light, sheer and natural.
Finish wise, as you can see pictured above, it’s very glowy and best of all, the healthy, youthful radiance that this formula emits looks natural! For the sake of a photo, I used a couple of pumps and did another light layer for my cheeks and under eyes.
I also used a Dior cream contour (click the image or here for full product list) and used a foundation brush to blend it all into the foundation. No qualms there! I’m usually a powder bronzer type of person for the sake of saving time, but for the review I tried a cream to test the blendability and it was ace! No patches, no issues. Was easy as pie!
There’s one thing to take into consideration before application. I’ve attempted to pair it with a bunch of different primers but to be completely honest, I think it works best without one. Unless I used a super duper light-weight water-based primer that left a barely-there veil, my skin looked shinier a lot sooner with anything silicone based.
Today, I used the Dior Forever Skin Glow again without a primer and it looks so flippin’ amazing. Buffed right into the skin with a cushion puff, this formula sticks to the skin incredibly. It doesn’t seep into pores like other tacky and fast-drying high-coverage long-wear foundations. You don’t even need to set it with a powder and in turn, can maximise the glowy effect. Just brush on your bronzer, blush and highlighter on top and you’re ready to go out the door!
