Long story short, it’s not what you think!

We all know about the Huda Easy Bake Loose Powder. But, how does the Easy Bake Pressed Powder compare?
The HUDA Beauty's Easy Bake loose powder is undeniably an industry favourite. Known for its flawless and airbrushed finish, this powder is hard to beat. Now, HUDA Beauty welcomes a pressed powder into the Easy Bake family, catering to those who crave that same legendary performance in a different format. However, upon further investigation, there are a few palpable differences that you might want to consider before deciding which formula is best for you.
Let’s get into a HUDA Beauty compare and contrast: Easy Bake Edition.
Formula and Ingredients:
While the HUDA Beauty Easy Bake powders might share the name, they are not interchangeable based on your preferences for a loose or pressed powder. Both are fundamentally distinct and will play a different role in your beauty routine. To uncover what makes them so unique, we have to look to the ingredients index.
A peek into the ingredients for the loose powder will reveal talc, silica and dimethicone at the centre stage. These MVPs translate into a super-matte, pore-minimising and filter-like finish. You can think of this powder as the ultimate oil-absorbing bodyguard.
On the other hand, the prominent ingredients of the Easy Bake Pressed Powder include mica, caprylic triglyceride, olive fruit oil and hyaluronic acid. This dream team paints a wholly different picture: a more luminous finish that is semi-matte. As such, this powder is not the best option for oil or moisture absorbing purposes. This is why this powder can cause creasing or feel thick and heavy on the skin when used directly on top of foundation and/or concealer.
While there are no rules, we recommend using the pressed version as a finishing powder upon an already set base for the best results. You can also think of it as the perfect touch up companion for on-the-go needs.
FYI: Don’t be alarmed by the mica, this powder is not noticeably shimmery. Rather, the mica allows this powder to blur and perfect the skin.
Finish and Feel:
Now that we have a better understanding of the formula, we can delve deeper into the finish and feel of each product. Sometimes, it's not just about loose vs. pressed, but about choosing the right formula for the job at hand.
As for the original loose formula, it best serves its purpose for baking and setting – duh. Due to its incredibly light-weight and finely milled formula, it’s hard to go wrong. Controlling the finish is quite easy by using either a brush or a sponge for your desired effect. You don’t necessarily have to bake with this powder, despite the name, but it makes a great baking powder due to its ingredient index. This means, you can bake without the cake. Perhaps you have already deduced, but the Easy Bake Loose is definitely better for oilier skin types.
Flip the script with the pressed powder – the full name of which is the Huda Beauty Easy Bake and SNATCH Pressed Brightening and Setting Powder. Product names can sometimes hint towards their finish and this is true for the pressed Easy Bake powder. It really is perfect for brightening dull areas at the end of your routine. The result? Snatched under eyes! Considering the ingredients, I’m sure this was intended by HUDA Beauty as a drier finishing powder formula would add cake and mess to the complexion.
Coverage and Control:
When it comes to coverage and control, the loose powder is sheer to light coverage. Afterall, it is a setting powder that prioritises blurring skin texture. However, the pressed powder offers light coverage due to the mica pigments that aim to perfect the skin.
I have been loving the shade Cupcake in the pressed version for the under eyes to give a boost of coverage and brightness that lasts the entire day. I also noticed that it helps to further blend my blush because I use it as the last step of my base routine!
