BY REBECCA DIEUDONNE
Perfume will always hold a special place in my heart and on my shelves - I probably have at least fifty that I rotate depending on the season and occasion.

From the delectable packaging, delicate details and the scents themselves – expertly crafted by alchemists to evoke even the faintest of memories.
L’Interdit, the newest release from Givenchy, is actually a modern rendition of the perfumery’s original L’interdit (1957), which was dedicated to their most significant muse, Audrey Hepburn
The original scent was created by renowned perfumer Roure Bertrand Dupont in Grasse. It was a special gift to Audrey, who wore it for a year before it was released to the public. Behind a false innocence, the scent evokes a passionate seduction through clove and tonka bean.
Captivating Intensity
The 2018 version was blended by Dominique Ropion (Burberry, Cacharel, Elie Saab), Anne Flipo (Chloé, Jo Malone) and Fanny Bal (Paco Robane, Issey Miyake). The thick glass bottle pays homage to the original, but with the addition of a thin black ribbon to the neck. It is best described as a floral-woody scent, featuring the contrast of jasmine, tuberose and orange blossom with the intensity of earthy patchouli and vetiver.
This contrast was inspired by the ‘thrill of the forbidden’ and this comes through in the depth of the fragrance. It is a dark and intense fragrance, which I think is perfectly suited to evening wear and special occasions.
The face of the latest release is Rooney Mara – perhaps most known for her appearance in the film Girl with a Dragon Tattoo. Her captivating intensity is a perfect fit for the scent, which is elegant and unforgettable.
